Soom Tahini is a paste made from pressed and roasted Ethiopian White Humera sesame seeds, offering a creamy texture and nutty flavor.
They source their sesame seeds from Humera, a town in the northwestern Tigray Region of Ethiopia. At Harvest, stalks are cut down, the seeds are shaken out by hand, gathered and packaged to be sent to Israel for manufacturing. These seeds in particular are targeted for their oil to “meat” ratio and their nutty flavor.
Soom Tahini has a rich flavor without the bitter notes of some other tahini. The seeds are ground very finely, making the tahini super smooth and easy to re-blend.
And it's good for more than just hummus! Use it as an ingredient in dressings, marinades, sauces, dips, spreads, soups, smoothies, and desserts.
