Made with a blend of malted grains, organic rolled oats, dried cherries, and pumpkinseeds, this is one of the addictive granolas we've ever tried.
What exactly makes something Malted? Essentially, malting a grain causes means triggering enzymes in the grain that will convert starches to sugars, which in turn give the yeast something to turn into alcohol. Any kind of grain can be malted - soak the grains, let them hang out at room temperature for a few days, then dry them when the sprout (called the "radicle") appears.
This is essential to brewing, but it also creates a great flavor and aroma on its own. The flavors play extremely well with the honey, demerara sugar and butter to give it a dark, complex taste....the sort of thing you'd expect from a malt shop making granola in their own image.
This is neither gluten free nor vegan, but it is all natural and made entirely with fresh locally grown grain. Each package contains 12 servings (120 cal/ea).
Does not contain nuts.
This granola goes great with our Overnight Oats.
